چکیده

The primary structure ol proteins results from the combination of amino acids in a proper sequence through peptide bonds which tire covalent bonds. Stabilization of ano-helical configuration by hydro gen bonding yields a secondary structure. I he spiral is stabilized by hydrogen bonding between the car boxyl and the imido groups of the peptide chain which appear in a regular sequence along the chain. Compression of the very long spiral chain into a glo bular form results in the tertiary structure of proteins.

Enhancement of Adhesion Properties, Corrosion Resistance and Cathodic Disbonding of Mild Steel-Epoxy Coating Systems By Vanadium Conversion Coating

In this study, vanadium conversion coating(VCC) was deposited on the surface of soft-cast steel (St-37).  A thermoset coating was enforced on the VCC and blank substrates. The surface was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), elemental mapping of energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The adhesion strength...

Sensitivity Analysis of the Critical Conditions of AFM-Based Biomanipulation of Cylindrical Biological Particles in Various Biological Mediums by Means of the Sobol Method

The sensitivity analysis of atomic force microscope (AFM) based manipulation of gold spherical nanoparticles in air medium has been carried out in previous research works. In the AFM-based manipulations conducted in various biological liquid mediums, the new environmental parameters associated with these biological fluids also affect the dynamics of the manipulation process. Therefore in this r...

Modeling of the intermolecular Force-Induced Adhesion in Freestanding Nanostructures Made of Nano-beams

Among the intermolecular interactions, the Casimir and van der Waals forces are the most important forces that highly affect the behavior of nanostructures. This paper studies the effect of such forces on the adhesion of cantilever freestanding nanostructures. The nanostructures are made of a freestanding nano-beam which is suspended between two upper and lower conductive surfaces. The linear s...

Evaluation of the efficacy of several phytopolymers in terms of their duration of mucoadhesion

In recent years worldwide interest has grown towards the development of mucoadhesive drug delivery systems. These systems are capable of adhering to body's mucosal surfaces for an extended period of time, releasing their drug content in a retarded manner. The use of biopolymers, and in particular phytopolymers, could provide a natural basis for the development of such systems. The aim of this s...
